After the turmoil of the Spanish crises, the tradition-conscious shoemakers created the new type of Western biker boot from the new attitude to life of freedom, individualism and pioneering spirit: caree-shaped at the front, the high heel slightly slanted, the leather rhyme with metal ring around the ankle and the high shaft. The new boot shape was an instant hit and created a kind of cult status for identity awareness even back then.

Stories of a legend

We designed the 541® boots in the late 50s. Early enough to give the rebellious '68 movement, which was kicking out the prudish bourgeoisie, a pair of soles of freedom and an unwritten future.

For outlaws, cowboys, bikers, rockers, legends of the country and folk scene whose awakened dreams and energy, together with a flair for heroism and danger, stood for a vision of the meaning of freedom, the Sancho Crew created a pradigm of the eropean boot culture from selected leathers and handmade cuts.

Today, we pull on our boots to celebrate the birthday of Sancho's 541. We still make our boots using the same techniques as we did over 60 years ago - with an eye on the needs of future generations of heritage, sustainability and longevity without sacrificing the timeless honesty and daring of past generations.

Like all Sancho boots, the 541® footwear features the logo of the King of Nawarra, Sancho Abarca's trademark, on the leather sole and upper. To this day, Sancho Abarca boots are famous far beyond the borders of the European continent for their exceptional comfort, quality and excellent fit.

Although the 541 boots have been around for over sixty years, their cut has been further perfected over the years. The material has also been adapted to the needs of each era.

However, the typical straight cut with the leather strap and the angular last have been retained over the years. Other features that are typical of the 541 are the excellent fit and the fact that the boots are made of 100% leather.

All good things take time. Each boot is still handmade in the fiery south of Sapnia. If a model you're waiting for is out of stock, sign up for our newsletter and get notified about new offers at www.sancho-store.com.
