Historians don't seem to agree on who invented the belt.
Since we're not historians, we don't want to get too far out on a limb here, but you can find information claiming that the belt was invented by Viking tribes and barbarian tribes for purely practical reasons.
What is historically proven is that even in prehistoric times, women and men wore belt-like leather straps, which were designed to prevent clothes from slipping.
At this time, the leather pieces were simply knotted together in the middle, but the later decorative belt buckle was invented by the Romans.
Initially intended to hold heavy pants on the hips, the belt only became a popular fashion accessory after 1900.
Levi's produced the world's first jeans with belt loops in 1920. Within 20 years, belt loops on jeans became a standard feature and a fashion statement.

When ordering a belt online from Sancho Store, the easiest way is to measure an existing belt from your collection that fits you well. Lay the belt flat and straight on a table, then use a measuring tape to measure: -with the buckle ... ... to the hole that fits you best at the moment.
